 FER KTLab is pleased to announce that nine of our students succesfully defended their master theses at the end of June. Theses cover diverse and interesting topics in text mining and natural language processing. We congratulate our students for their hard work and for earning the masters degree!

FER KTLab signed a contract with the Croatian Institute for Technology for the project Intelligent Text Analyzer. INTER SIG company is our project partner. Two new KTLab members will also work on the project: Goran Glavaš and Mladen Karan.

Two student projects - News Explorer and Corpus Explorer were presented on March 24th, 2011. The News Explorer enables an overview of current themes and their popularity in newswire sources, while the Corpus Explorer is tailored for exploration of large textual collections rich with various meta data. Student teams were led by assistant professor Jan Šnajder. Our interesting and good presentations were attended by a number of our partners from companies Hina, Infodom, Poslovna Inteligencija, as well as many of our students.
